SANITATION COMMISSIONER ELECTION
The election for Commissioner of Sanitary District No. 2 for the term of five (5) years, will be held on Thursday, July 27, 2017 from 2:00 P.M. till 10:00 P.M.
To encourage residents to participate in the election process and make the polling locations more accessible, the District will offer three polling locations through out the District. The polling locations will be:
Residents of Baldwin and Oceanside:
Sanitary District No. 2 Office and Garage
2090 Grand Avenue, Baldwin, NY 11510
Resident of South Hempstead and Rockville Centre:
Covert Elementary School
379 Willow Street
South Hempstead, NY 11550
Residents of Roosevelt, Uniondale and Freeport:

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, Pursuant to Chapter 372 Laws of 1978, that an election will be held in the SANITARY DISTRICT NO. TWO building, 2080 Grand Avenue, Baldwin, New York; CENTENNIAL AVENUE FIREHOUSE, 56 W. Centennial Avenue, Roosevelt, New York; and the COVERT SCHOOL, Willow Street and Long Beach Road, South Hempstead, New York on Thursday, July 27, 2017 between the hours of TWO (2) and TEN (10) o'clock, p.m., Daylight Savings Time, for the purpose of electing a Commissioner of Sanitary District No. 2 for a term of FIVE (5) years to succeed JOHN A. COOLS, whose term expires on July 31, 2017.
Only persons who are qualified voters and residents of the District shall be entitled to vote thereat.
TAKE NOTICE ALSO, that pursuant to a resolution of the Board of Commissioners, Candidates for the office of Commissioner shall be required to file their names with the Board of Commissioners at least TEN (10) days prior to the date of such election. The Board also requires that such nominations be submitted in petition form, subscribed to by TWENTY-FIVE (25) qualified voters of the District. Petitions will be received from Monday, June 5, 2017 at 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 P.M. until Monday, July 17, 2017.
Voting machines will be used at the election.
