Operation Splash
At the regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners of Sanitary District No. 2, Chairman John Cools presented Jill Bellovin, Colleen Walsh, Nancy Conforti, and Shaun Culbreathe with certificates of achievement. These four teenagers organized a chapter of Operation SPLASH, Stop Polluting Littering and Save Harbors in Baldwin Harbor. Following Hurricane Irene, they organized a large group of friends and volunteers to assist in removing debris from waterways of Baldwin. Sanitary District No. 2 assisted them with removing the collected debris from their drop off point.
These individuals have shown a true commitment to preserve the beautiful waterways of Baldwin and to save our environment. Their group effort has had a direct impact on our waterways and are inspiration to use all that we can make a difference.
