NOTICE OF ELECTION
SANITARY DISTRICT NO. 2
TOWN OF HEMPSTEAD
COUNTY OF NASSAU
NEW YORK
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, Pursuant to Chapter 372 Laws of 1978, that an election will be held in the SANITARY DISTRICT NO. TWO building, 2080 Grand Avenue, Baldwin, New York; QUEEN OF THE MOST HOLY ROSARY on Centennial Avenue, Roosevelt, New York; and the COVERT SCHOOL Willow Street and Long Beach Road, South Hempstead, New York on Thursday, July 31, 2014 between the hours of TWO (2) and TEN (10) o'clock, p.m., Daylight Savings Time, for the purpose of electing a Commissioner of Sanitary District No. 2 for a term of FIVE (5) years to succeed Brian F. O’Connor, whose term expires on July 31, 2014; and for the purpose of electing a Commissioner of Sanitary District No. 2 for a term of FOUR (4) years to succeed Carl L. DeHaney Jr., whose term expires on July 31, 2014.
Only persons who are qualified voters and residents of the District shall be entitled to vote thereat.
TAKE NOTICE ALSO, that pursuant to a resolution of the Board of Commissioners, Candidates for the office of Commissioner shall be required to file their names with the Board of Commissioners at least TEN (10) days prior to the date of such election. The Board also requires that such nominations be submitted in petition form, subscribed to by TWENTY-FIVE (25) qualified voters of the District. Petitions will be received from Monday, June 9, 2014 at 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 P.M. until Monday, July 21, 2014.
Voting machines will be used at the election.

The Polls will open at 2:00 p.m. and close at 10:00 p.m.
